FreewareVista

After a website sabbatical and now with the release of Windows Vista, work on the SuperRedBear to FreewareVista transformation is on in earnest, with new content every day.

Super Red Bear is in happy agreement with the transformation, glad that the crack FreewareVista team has so adeptly taken over the never ending search for freeware utilities; and, after all, there have been those concerned about too many atmospheric re-entries.

In any event the little fellow sure appreciates your visits to www.FreewareVista.com and he reminds that he can be seen flying at www.SuperRedBear.com which leads straight-away to more fun stuff. Happy travels - good luck and good computing.

Freeware Vista & Super Red Bear Integration Continues

While much freeware content has been added to the FreewareVista site, the focus has been on the integration of the two sites (FreewareVista with Super Red Bear).

This evolution will continue as we also continue to focus on additional content...most recently we've added several Anti-virus categories and expanded the Intrusion Protection Section (go to FreewareVista and use the index to the left of the page) including a note from Super Red Bear.

The fun section of Super Red Bear also sees regular additions....there's talk around here of a hellium balloon stunt that frankly scares the hell out of me....but may happen in the spring....in any event here's a popular photo addition if you missed it....

Plus this from Hetemeel

Merry Christmas to all.

New Photo Releases and FreewareVista Update

Mainly updating the new-look FreewareVista and working on integration logistics with SuperRedBear.com proper.....

.....a note just in from SRB.....

No one really cares about 'integration logistics', that might as well be a fancy term for 'you're doing something'.... hopefully it's something which justifies your paycheck....show them the freeware and useful tips.....and here's a few photos to update the Fun Section....people want a little humor emanating from their computer screens...if you keep humor within easy reach on any page people will like it...and don't forget to follow up with Microsoft about that new operating system they're tinkering with....surely it needs a bear icon in there somewhere.....

Overall you're doing a Good Job.....I put you in for another pay raise......SRB

FreewareVista Merge

Working on the merge of the Super Red Bear Freeware section and the FreewareVista site.... soon all references to freeware will take the user to FreewareVista.....accordingly, Freeware Vista is undergoing an update to accomodate more freeware categories plus a better breakdown of categories to page, so to facilitate user search engine search to specific result.......in other words a user typing a request into a search engine will arrive and "find things more easily"....a highly technical concept......it means you will "find it without looking very much".....

As for Super Red Bear himself, though I have no actual sightings to report, word is that a new update is coming to the fun section that will involve a score of previously unreleased photos of our hero in action...including some highly technical work on an older system with boltcutters...

Until then.....Good luck and good computing. SRB Observer

He tells it like it is

Found this note:

Cut out the fluff and get more software and freeware and helpful tips...that's what they want......pack the site with that stuff and lay off the happy stories about how I can fly...any numbskull can see I can fly by looking at the flash animation on the index page...let's not make some big deal of it.......helpful tips, that's the key......practical stuff that people can use...not some erudite sounding egghead jumble mixed with symbols someone found in a Sanskrit Primer....and send them to the Super Site Map, that's a handy link indeed......overall you're doing a good job, I put you in for a pay raise...but call those Google people and tell them to send more visitors.....SRB

Latest Update

Well the Super Red Bear site has just undergone a major renovation in terms of the navigational structure...moving away from the frame based approach and hopefully creating an easier search experience. I also moved the perl search engine to the home page.....the Fluid Dynamics pure perl engine from developer Zoltan Milosevic continues to impress and proves to be one of the easier ways to quickly find a resource on Super Red Bear....there's articles on lots of different subjects and you can zip right to them with the search engine......

Don't forget the Super Site Map as well....also updated and structurally overhauled for quicker and easier use.....the whole site is categorized on the map.....

Super Red Bear himself made an impressive , though brief appearance once again in New York City......though I must admit my travelling to the top of the Empire State Building to retrieve a resource is somewhat exhausting..... but I do what I can for the team..... http://superredbear.com/quicktipoddball.html....... and this handy reference previously published by NASA...... http://www.superredbear.com/traveltimefromearth.html

FreewareVista

Well FreewareVista is finally up and running if only as a simple design and only as a page on the SuperRedBear site. Nevertheless it's a handy reference for XP freeware at this point...and eventually a great place to visit for those using Vista.....

I've also been adding quite a bit of content to the general SuperRedBear content pages....just tonight a great new Online Virus Scanner in the Virus section that uses multiple scanners (24 in our test) and produces a nice neat report of the scan results......now that's making sure a file is clean......

No SuperRedBear sightings to report, but I'm almost caught up with the backlog of items...I'm sure Mr. Super Red Bear will be by soon......

All the best, SRB Observer

I promise to post more often

Additions and modifications to the Super Red Bear site have been many and varied and keeping up with these has occupied time that otherwise might have been spent blogging. The index page was overhauled and the new version presented here: http://www.superredbear.com/ - don't forget to mouse over the black box items for more menu items, they appear with an added fillip if you're using Internet Explorer.

You will also find the "content" page, also referred to variously as the "Super Sitemap" and the "Specific Search", quite useful and updated with lots of new links added - still adding more http://www.superredbear.com/content.html

There have also been numerous additions to the glossary http://www.superredbear.com/glossary.html

.....and in general various pages have been updated......
